What Are Paper Napkins?
Telling Paper
Napkins are a type of cleaning paper used in hotels, restaurants, and households during meals, hence the name “napkin”.
They come in various colors, such as white, red, yellow, green, etc., and can also be printed with different patterns or embossed. Generally, napkins are made from 100% bleached cotton pulp or softwood sulfite pulp. Currently, some straw pulp is also used to produce napkins, which has proven to be economically beneficial.
Napkins are typically produced without gluing or filling, but when producing colored paper, appropriate colorants should be added. The characteristics of napkins include softness, strong water absorption, and no lint or dust. Embossed napkins should have clear embossed patterns and a certain level of firmness. The entire paper surface should be smooth and free of wrinkles. In the case of two-layer napkins, the layers should adhere to each other after embossing and be difficult to separate.
They are primarily made from wood. Napkins are disposable, allowing them to be discarded at the end of each meal. However, this does not mean that you should always opt for the cheapest ones available. By choosing high-quality napkins, you will likely only need one per meal, saving you from wasting money on ineffective napkins that won’t last throughout the entire meal.
